Wax spatula: the ultimate tool for antique wax tablets
This wax spatula can be used for all wax tablet maintenance work. First, the antique wax spatula must be slightly warmed over a candle. Use the heated, flat side of the wax spatula to smooth the velvety wax over a large area of the antique writing tablet. To renew the wax tablet all around, simply scrape the wax layer from the wooden wax tablet with the antique wax spatula and coat it with fresh beeswax. The wax is also available in two colors in the Römershop at a reasonable price.

The prefabricated wax from the Römershop in black or natural with the appropriate admixture of black soot can be pressed into the corners of the antique wax tablet in small quantities, preferably hand-warm, using the square end piece of the hard metal wax spatula. When the entire base of the wax tablet has been filled with new wax, the wax can be smoothed out again with the flat side of the wax spatula. This process is repeated until the desired writing surface has been created or until the wooden surface has been filled. And then the wax tablet can be written on again! Simply smooth it out with the flat end of the stylus or pen and everything is new again!
