The everyday equipment with glasses and ceramics is also really well made and has survived the hard life of a soldier well. In general, the range of products is truly sensational and offers unique products from the Roman era for many age groups and requirements, from hardcore legionnaires to little Roman fans of primary school age.

Hello and thank you very much for the great products!

Our students were thrilled with the papyrus coloring pictures and the scarabs. As promised, I am sending you photos of the work with the coloring pictures. I wrote a review for the "scarab" coloring picture, but it can also be added to all the other pictures, since we had different motifs.

The lovingly and authentically designed products from the Römer-Shop have been accompanying me for years and even decades in the field of ancient representation. As a centurion in a Roman military unit until a few years ago, the stationery, from wax tablets to papyrus scrolls, was extremely helpful for high-quality appearances and presentations at museum festivals, in reenactment and in museum education work.

The Dominikanermuseum Rottweil presents in its department "Roman Rottweil - Arae Flaviae" the life in the only Roman city in Baden-Wuerttemberg. We have been a customer of Römershop for a long time for our own museum shop and are convinced of the high and, above all, consistently high quality of the products. The entire team is always looking forward to new products and our shop is an attraction for our visitors thanks to good replicas.

The card is easy to work with and the cardboard is sturdy enough for such projects. Perhaps small cast figures and horses on a plastic base would be a useful addition to the shop, rather than the cardboard pictures. My 12-year-old son had fun making something like that

"When Sand Becomes Stone" – Model Building on the Nile

Egypt craft templates for school and project lessons | Der Römer Shop

The First Line Was on Papyrus

The year is 2560 BCE – somewhere near Memphis, a man stands in the desert sand. In his hand, a ruler made of palm wood; on the ground before him: a small, neatly folded floor plan on papyrus. He is a master builder – responsible for a monument meant to surpass everything ever built by humans. But before the first stone is laid, the masterpiece is created in miniature. Clay model houses, small pyramids made of wood, colored blocks marked with paint – a construction kit of antiquity.

Egypt’s builders planned to scale. Models helped them check proportions, simulate processes, and avoid mistakes before they became unsolvable at a height of 146 meters. Every cut, every axis, every passage – was first understood by hand and eye in miniature. What CAD is today was back then: Craftsmanship using reed, papyrus, clay, and limestone.

Ideas in Miniature – Knowledge Shaped into Form

In tombs, these archaic models were found: ovens, Nile barges, god altars, storage buildings – tiny in size yet executed with perfect precision. They served not only the living as planning tools but were meant to ensure the world would function in the afterlife. Model building was no child's play – but a tool of control and hope.

When we fold paper pyramids today or draw hieroglyphs on cardboard sheets, we continue this tradition: Only in miniature does the great become tangible. And often, the first line on the craft sheet is more than just an outline – it's the beginning of something big.

Knowledge to Cut Out

Craft sheets with substance: These templates offer far more than just a creative pastime. They are designed to clearly convey historical knowledge about Ancient Egypt. At the same time, crafting remains simple and easy to follow – even without prior knowledge.

  • Historically accurate designs: such as pyramids, depictions of gods, or everyday scenes
  • Durable paper: ideal for children’s hands and frequent use
  • Diverse layouts: with a clear, age-appropriate structure
  • Tactile learning: encourages concentration and historical understanding

The advantage: You receive a well-thought-out product that combines fun and education – with zero hassle.

A Museum Made of Cardboard

An empty table. Five groups. And one mission: each group creates an "exhibition" about one aspect of Ancient Egypt. Group A presents life along the Nile, Group B builds a model of the Great Pyramid of Khufu, Group C explains hieroglyphs using writing tablets. All using the crafting templates.

In the end, an exhibition emerges—curated by the students themselves: with models, self-written informational texts, and a true sense of context. The children experience themselves not only as learners but also as creators and mediators of knowledge.

A creative project that fosters team spirit, knowledge, and presentation skills – and is fun.
