The everyday equipment with glasses and ceramics is also really well made and has survived the hard life of a soldier well. In general, the range of products is truly sensational and offers unique products from the Roman era for many age groups and requirements, from hardcore legionnaires to little Roman fans of primary school age.

Hello and thank you very much for the great products!

Our students were thrilled with the papyrus coloring pictures and the scarabs. As promised, I am sending you photos of the work with the coloring pictures. I wrote a review for the "scarab" coloring picture, but it can also be added to all the other pictures, since we had different motifs.

The lovingly and authentically designed products from the Römer-Shop have been accompanying me for years and even decades in the field of ancient representation. As a centurion in a Roman military unit until a few years ago, the stationery, from wax tablets to papyrus scrolls, was extremely helpful for high-quality appearances and presentations at museum festivals, in reenactment and in museum education work.

The Dominikanermuseum Rottweil presents in its department "Roman Rottweil - Arae Flaviae" the life in the only Roman city in Baden-Wuerttemberg. We have been a customer of Römershop for a long time for our own museum shop and are convinced of the high and, above all, consistently high quality of the products. The entire team is always looking forward to new products and our shop is an attraction for our visitors thanks to good replicas.

The card is easy to work with and the cardboard is sturdy enough for such projects. Perhaps small cast figures and horses on a plastic base would be a useful addition to the shop, rather than the cardboard pictures. My 12-year-old son had fun making something like that

Jewelry like a thousand years ago – Feel history through your hands

Crafting ancient jewelry in reenactment | Der Römer Shop

Crafting jewelry – A tangible history experience

Even in ancient times, people adorned themselves with beads, bones, and colorful glass. Whether in Rome, Byzantium, or Scandinavia – each culture created its own shapes and colors. Today, you can rediscover this diversity by crafting historically inspired jewelry.

Imagine a young Roman girl walking through the streets of Pompeii, searching for glass beads between workshops. Or picture a Viking adding personal meaning to his bracelet with engraved bone elements. With our beads and cords, you continue this tradition – right in the classroom, the museum, or at home. What is created is more than jewelry: it is a hands-on history experience that connects generations. Because crafting with historical materials sparks questions, encourages creativity, and awakens curiosity about the past.

Creative craftsmanship with an ancient soul

Jewelry was never just decoration. It told stories, showed affiliation, and expressed craftsmanship. Our carefully selected crafting materials are based on original finds from Roman camps, Viking graves, and medieval trading centers. Each glass bead is a tiny masterpiece. Colors, patterns, and sizes reflect historical models – ideal for creating a connection to the past in the classroom or at home.

Unique DIY Moments to Gift or Wear Yourself

With these craft materials, you can create jewelry that tells stories – and touches hearts. Whether as a creative school project, a personal gift, or your new favorite accessory: Each piece becomes special through your hands.

  • Perfect as a small gift or birthday set for children
  • Creative versatility – from bracelets to keychains
  • Suitable for all ages – easy to use
  • Made with attention to detail – for true DIY fans
Colorful glass beads, engraved bone elements, or vegetable-tanned leather cords – all are designed for durability and authenticity.

Experience antiquity through creative projects

Understanding history – designing jewelry
Why did Romans wear glass beads? What symbols were popular among the Celts? These questions are best answered when students become active themselves.

Whether during a time travel week, in after-school programs or holiday workshops: The materials are easy to handle, support fine motor skills and encourage exchange.

The jewelry kits enable interdisciplinary projects – from history and art to ethics. Every bead becomes a conversation starter: about materials, trade routes and personal expression. Ideal for lessons, extracurricular groups or museum education workshops.

The result? A self-made piece of jewelry with historical significance – and a lasting learning experience.
