With practical holder - easy and secure to close
Following the traditional model, this pretty inkwell has two holes on the top. The small hole served as a holder for the pen or writing tube in the atramentaria, allowing excess ink to flow back into the barrel. The writing ink was removed via the larger hole. This was sealed with a cork or a simple cloth. This ensured that the ink inside the inkwell did not dry out.

This high-quality inkwell will be an eye-catcher in your classroom if you want to teach your pupils about ancient history and the art of Roman writing. However, thanks to its careful manufacture and robust material, you can also use this clay pot for private use. It will look particularly good on your desk - preferably in combination with a beautiful quill.
