The colorful Pergamon altar – Cut-out Set
In the 2nd c. BC, King Eumenses II had in the city build an altar in honour of the god Zeus Pergamum.
The frieze at the base of the altar represents the battle between the Greek gods and the Giants. The original Pergamanon altar is today preserved at Berlin, in the Pergamon Museum.
