Roman fragrance Unguentarium Replica – Balsamarium
Unguentarium, Balsamarium or Lacrimarium are amphora-like bottles for chrism or cremes. The bigger boxes were called ampulla unguenti.
These bottles were used for cosmetics, but also medical cremes.
Our replica is based on an Unguentarium or Balsamarium of the 1./2. c. A.D.
The bottle can be closed by a small piece of cork or tissue. Each piece is hand-made, hence, there might be slight variations in hight and form.
