Abu Simbel from Egypt

The small village is known for the here into the 13th century BC constructed rock temple of Pharaoh Ramses 2nd out of the 19th dynasty. The reproduction shows the front view of the temple with all its details. It is one of the most beautiful and dedicated monuments of one of the greatest Pharaohs of Egyptian history: Abu Simbel - the temple, that should honour the gods Amun-Re, Re-Harachte and Ptah. But in reality it was constructed to glorify its head of constructions Ramses the 2nd over the centuries.

The magnificent temple of Ramses 2nd was rescued with the lift of the first block of stone from the rock decided by the torrents of Nile, that came with the construction of the Assuan high dam.
