Legionary helmet for the little ones
This Roman helmet made of brass-colored cardboard is an excellent visual object for the little junior legionaries and antiquity researchers. The cardboard helmet is modeled after the most famous type of helmet worn by the Roman legions, the so-called Weisenau helmet type. Such helmets with a long neck peak were mainly used by infantry and thus by the majority of Roman combat troops. The Roman helmet is made of sturdy cardboard and comes fully assembled.
- Outside dimensions approx. 30x20 cm
- Inner diameter about 19 cm
Roman helmet for the hard legion everyday life
The outer color scheme is in brass colors and thus reminiscent of the helmets of the centurions from the popular Asterix universe. In addition, thanks to the riveted cardboard elements, this Roman helmet made of cardboard is particularly robust and well equipped for the tough use of any junior legionnaire. The movable cheek flaps of the Roman helmet protect against even the nastiest foam projectiles and the long neck shield offers the little legionaries protection against all kinds of dangers that lurk in the primeval forests of Germania or in the front yard at home.
Weisenau helmet type
Named after the first place where it was found, this type of helmet represents the cornerstone of Roman military tradition like no other object. In most popular depictions, legionaries are shown equipped with this extraordinarily famous Roman helmet. The Weisenau helmet was the inspiration for this child-friendly reproduction made of cardboard and allows for easy association with the legionaries of Rome and their auxiliaries.
Tips for the Roman helmet
It is recommended that you make the budding legionaries aware that use in humid climatic conditions is not recommended. Just as with the real-life model. The legionaries stationed at the Limes also had to take care that the helmet did not get too much moisture or had to be maintained regularly to protect it from permanent damage. If the Roman helmet is too big for the offspring, you can remedy this with a thin wool cap or similar. Since the cardboard helmet of course does not have a leather interior, this method with the cap is quite recommended. Since the helmet is delivered already assembled, there is nothing else to consider except that the offspring will be full of enthusiasm and zest for action with the Roman helmet!
