The magic of fire. Fred has already traveled to many countries and past cultures. He would never have thought that his next adventure would take him to Germany of all places. During a cave tour in the Swabian Alb, a spark of fire conjures him through time: to a past 35,000 years ago!
"Fire is power," said the lion man. "It can warm, it can destroy, it can even fall from the sky. And it can be used as a weapon."
The ice age - a drastic age
An ice age or ice age is a period in the history of the Earth in which at least one pole of the Earth is glaciated or in which enormous glaciations occur in both the southern and northern hemispheres. The last great ice age took place in the so-called Late Pleistocene. It began around 115,000 to 11,000,000 years ago and ended around 125,000 to 10,000 years ago. The ice age brought enormous changes with it. The climate cooled across the entire earth, there was widespread glaciation, extensive flooding, but also a drop in sea level and the formation of land bridges.
The ice age also had a considerable impact on flora and fauna. Due to cooling and rewarming, the various animal and plant species adapted to the respective climate were forced to relocate their habitats. As a result, numerous species became extinct. There were also far-reaching consequences and new challenges for humans!
