History at hand

The coloured craft sheet of Historicals is not only attractive, it has been developed according to the archaeological finding. Many of the historical details of this and all our other Historicals are authentic and yet child-friendly. Look at the Prince’s crown, the mistletoe wreath. The statue of the Celtic Prince was discovered on a plateau of the mountain Glauberg, which is a basalt foothill of the German volcano, the Vogelsberg. On the ridge and its surrounding area of the mountain there are many archaeological sites with finds from prehistoric times up to the high middle ages. It is worth visiting the area. Above one of the Celtic burial mounds there is a newly designed educational Celtic Museum and a research centre called the Glauberg Celtic world.

Due to its wonderful place, the Glauberg has always attracted people to settle there: the plateau dominates the surrounding area with its 150 m hight and its 800 meters of length.

The Celtic Prince from the Glauberg

In addition to the Celtic tombs on the Glauberg, the discovery of a life-size stone figure of a warrior was an absolute archaeological sensation. The almost entirely preserved stele has a mistletoe Crown as headgear - as has our model on paper. According to our ancient authors, mistletoe had a religious significance for the Celts, hence the crown indicates that the so buried was a priest. Indeed, the "Celtic Prince from the Glauberg" is by far the most important discovery of the Latènekultur in Germany. The life-size copy of the statue can be seen at the mentioned museum of Glauburg. It is also a wonderful area for hiking tours.

A 3D Craft Set

All craft sets of our Historicals are three-dimensional cut-out sheets which are perfect for a playful approach to history. The accessories of the pretty figures, such as a helmet or sword, are movable and removable.
