Antique purple ink
With the purple ink, you can not only faithfully recreate the writing process of antiquity and transport yourself back to the time of Cicero & Co, this ink is also ideal for embellishing and designing texts and documents of all kinds.
Become the messenger of the gods for beautifully designed messages
The purple ink is available to order in a glass bottle sealed with a cork. This protects the ink from drying out in an authentic and resealable way. Finally, the ink bottles are sealed by hand with a Mercury seal by the employees of our German manufactory. An original Roman signet ring is used for the wax seal of the messenger of the gods. This makes each bottle unique and its attractive appearance also makes it perfect as a gift.

Purple - The color of the mighty
The first traces of ink as an intensely colored liquid for writing can be traced back to 3000 BC. The history of the development of purple ink in its beginnings is particularly interesting. The color between red and blue was initially the toga and sash color of Roman senators. Purple ink was initially obtained from Mediterranean snail species - hence its name purple snails. For a long time, the elaborate process made the ink the most expensive writing fluid in the world, which is why it was reserved only for Byzantine emperors in the late Roman Empire.
Purple was also the color of the emperor in Constantinople. In the Middle Ages, purple became the color of the Catholic Church and in particular of cardinals. As a sacred color of spirituality and penance, purple ink was also used by monks to copy books. Purple ink is therefore not only an impressive visual aid in a bottle, but is also suitable for reliving history.
Making a text extraordinary
Whether with a writing tube, a brush, a quill, a fountain pen or another writing instrument - with this purple ink you can turn any piece of writing into something special and a lesson into an interesting and interactive experience.
