The production of the Mercury pendant is complex and takes place in several steps using traditional casting craftsmanship.
First of all, the caster creates a wax model of the head to be depicted. To create the required green mold, the model of the casting is coated with investment material. The wax is melted out and the required hollow mold is created. The bronze is heated to its melting point and then poured into the prepared hollow mold in a liquid state at around 1,300 degrees. After cooling, the mold is broken and the so-called raw casting is removed. The finished jewelry pendant is thoroughly cleaned and polished to a shine.
As each mold can only be used once, each Mercury amulet is created as a precious one-off.
The scope of delivery includes a high-quality leather strap and a cotton bag for storage.

The god of merchants
The name of the Roman deity Mercurius goes back to the Latin word merx, meaning "goods". Equated with the Greek god Hermes, the Romans also transferred his characteristics to Mercury.
The revered deity was considered the messenger of the gods, a god of merchants and thieves. Around 500 years before the birth of Christ, the inhabitants of Rome dedicated a temple to their protector and at the same time created the guild of merchants.
The deity's distinctive attributes include the staff of Hermes, a winged helmet and a purse held in his right hand.
Mercurii was the name given to Wednesday, formerly the fourth and now the third day of the week. This custom has also survived to this day in other Romance languages.
