Exciting facts about Egyptian history: Ramses II
Ramses was the name of numerous Egyptian gods. But Ramses I was an ancient Egyptian king, a pharaoh and founder of the 19th dynasty (New Kingdom), who ruled from 1291 BC to 1290 BC. While the students work on their painting reliefs, they can learn in passing that Ramses, like his predecessor Haremhab, was an Egyptian military leader. At first he was a simple officer, then a troop and fortress commander, later a member of the general staff. He eventually became the king's envoy and general of the chariot force before Haremhab appointed him vizier. In this role, he became the king's representative in Upper and Lower Egypt. But it is with the goddess Isis that the story takes its exciting course!
The famous goddess Isis as a painting relief to create yourself
While creating the painting relief of the Egyptian goddess Isis, pupils also learn exciting facts about the myth of the Egyptian goddess: Isis, from the Egyptian Aset, is the goddess of birth, rebirth and magic in Egyptian mythology. She was also honored as the goddess of the dead. The Egyptian goddess Isis first appears in inscriptions from the Old Kingdom. Together with her husband Osiris and her twin sister Nephthys, she gained fame and renown among the Egyptians through the so-called Osiris myth and the Isis hymn. Isis was worshipped by the Greeks and Romans living in Egypt until the Christian era. Incidentally, the Osiris myth was an integral part of Egyptian mythology!
Designing painting reliefs: As gripping as a thriller!
The story comes from ancient Egyptian mythology and tells of the murder of Osiris by his brother Seth and the efforts of his wife and sister Isis. Pure suspense - offering pupils as much adventure as a gripping thriller when designing their own bookmark.
