Contemporary witness: The 'weapon dancer'
The original of this small figurine was found in a woman's grave at thearchaeological site in Kungsängen, Sweden. The unique depiction dates back to the Viking Age and was probably made around the year 800.
The small sculpture, which was probably a fertility symbol, originally measures 2.8 cm. As was customary at the time, it was cast from bronze and today provides us with impressive evidence of the cultic life of the Viking Age. It can be found in the State Historical Museum in Stockholm.
The municipality of Upplands-Bro in the province of Stockholms län, where the amulet was unearthed, still has this silhouette of Odin on its coat of arms today.

The cult of Odin
Although it is not possible today to say for certain what the small weapon dancer originally meant, many assumptions have been made. One interpretation is that it is a priest of the Odin cult. In his hands he holds a sword and two crossed bundles of grain, which are sometimes also interpreted as spears.
In the Norse mythology of Eddic poetry, Odin is the main god. The father of the gods is associated with war and death. He is also the lord of runes, magic and poetry. Due to his great power, offerings of thanks were always brought to him at harvest festivals in many regions. The harvest yield was thus also a credit to Odin's goodness, which is why a portion of the harvest was always dedicated to him.
Archaic ornament
To this day, this delicately crafted piece of jewelry impresses with its archaic appearance. It combines ancient myths of mankind and symbols that never lose their meaning. The silver-plated surface gives the small pendant a sophisticated look. Like its model, the pendant has an eyelet so that it can always be worn close to the body
Meaningful pendant
The replica of a piece of jewelry that was made for the Odin cult over 1200 years ago still has a magical aura today. It will accompany you as your personal lucky charm. The archaic design language and the millennia-old symbolism give the pendant a unique look.
