Ovid gives advices for the art of love, just like how to brush off elegantly dust from the dress of the woman sitting next to you during chariot race in Circus Maximus as a gentleman, even though there is not any dust. You shall promise the earth to your beloved in love letters - rich of promises every indefinable person can be.
With the advice to show calm and superior ease towards your rival ("be patient with your rival"), the poet admits, that jealousy has pranked him only once. Amusing and flirtatious is the ancient lecture in roman appearance as a really ancient scroll out of papyrus. By the way in the Roman shop as well are beautiful cistas to keep the ancient "library"!
