Norwegian Borre style - style of the griffin
The style Borre or as well of the griffin is a epoch of style of the art of the early Middle Ages in the 9th to 10th century. Te artsy style is named after the Norwegian village Borre, which is located in the municipality Horten in Norway. Characteristic for the artsy style are ornaments of animals and knots. The Borre style was followed by the so called Jellinge style in the Norwegian art.
