Characteristics of the heavily armed gladiator
Barefooted or with sandals the Murmillo mainly fought against gladiators armed with a net. He himself was equipped with a ballte armament, that had a weight of 15 to 18 kg. The gladiators were considered as professional fighters in the Antiquity and stepped out into the public in arenas against each other.
