Roman Glass Grape Bottle - Roman Glass
A remarkable wine experience in Roman times.
Wine was a popular drink in Roman times that could be enjoyed at any time of day. At the same time the Romans believed, that wine was a gift from the gods, and worshiped Bacchus as the god of wine. Drinking wine was therefore a religious duty, but the Romans also enjoyed the good life and celebrations.
During the numerous Roman festivals the wine consumption has always been a main focus. The Roman wars also contributed to the fact, that the knowledge of wine cultivation was spread in the surrounding countries. In European countries and in North Africa, the first wine was produced soon after the conquest by Roman troops.
