The charioteer of Delphi - enchanting bust

The original of this beautiful bust was found in 1896 near the famous Apollo Shrine in Delphi/Greece. It was a sacrificial gift from Polyzalos, the so-called tyrant of Gela/Sicily, to the Apollo sanctuary located in Delphi. The beautiful and detailed bronze statue was handed over to the victor of a chariot race. Only the bust is still preserved to this day. The figurine steered originally a Quadriga with four noble horses. The figurine also wears a headband on its head.

Gorgeous replica of an original Greek bust from Delphi

The detailed replica is characterized by its high quality. It is manufactured in Germany and convinces by its very good workmanship. The color of the bust is bronze and it is cast from ceramic casting materials. The delicate natural material is not only used for the production of replicas, but also for monument protection. The bust is wearing a sleeveless garment called Chiton. The undergarment was usually made of linen or wool. The bust is also wearing a headband just like the original.
