A brothel coin with special motives
Coins were used for many things. They were used as coupons or means of payment, but as well as entrance stamps and even as tiddlywinks those coins were used. As a rule there were coins with a minting, that showed the portrait of emperor Tiberius, that were to see on the front and the declaration of value was on the back of the coin. Those were appeared as roman digits. Those coins as a rule were called Tessarae.
A very special coin is the Spintriae, which was the latin meaning for ‚rent boy‘. The brothel coin was used for special occasions and has instead of the head of the emperor Tiberius a scene of the area of eroticism , that showed the most different scenes.
