Be lucky – with the Roman statue of the seated Fortuna
The seated statue of the goddess Fortuna from the first half of the 2nd century AD in Roman mythology stands for luck and fortune. Especially Roman soldiers revered Fortuna as fate-determining force. Many temples in the Roman Empire were dedicated to Fortuna.
The original of this sitting variant of the enthroned goddess with cornucopia and pomegranate, as a sign of happiness, has been found in the Roman city of Nida-Heddernheim, Germany.
