The 18 cm high standing statue of Fortuna has been created according to an original that was found in 1954 in a fire in the District of Birkenfeld, and dates back to the 1st-2nd centuries AD. You can see it in the Rheinisches Landesmuseum of Trier, Germany.
The material used to recreate this statue: Alabaster gypsum, the finest material for preservation
Your Fortuna consists completely of patinated plaster of Alabaster. This is a finely ground and high quality natural material. The delicate material makes it possible to craft in all details the statue, then it dries to became hard like marble. Alabaster plaster, therefore is incomparable to lower quality and cheap construction plaster. So be careful, if you are offered replica statues, made from simple plaster.
