untreated wood, solidly glued for receiving a papyrus on a rod you glue a sheet of papyrus not wider than 30,5 cm simply around the rod and fix it with pegs until the glue dried. The wooden rod for ancient scrolls can be painted or oiled - depending on taste and favour.
Transmit your important words on an ancient scroll, which you can make easily on your own with these wooden rod out of beech! It would be best if you use a tube out of reed or a quill for writing on your scroll. You can find those in various interesting versions in the Roman Shop.
Papyrus (lat. cyperus papyrus = perennial of papyrus) already served as writing paper in the antiquity or maintaining literary or religious texts in writing. Sheets of papyrus can be designed with felt-tips, acrylic paint, watercolour, as well as with ink or pastel.
By the way the papyrus sheets until today are produced the same way as thousands of years before!
