Altar board king Echnaton with queen Nefertiti and their three daughters

That Egyptian mural image is a altar board of the king Echnaton with his queen Nefertiti and their three daughters. The original comes from Tel el Amarna in in Egypt and is made out of chulk. The mural relief shows the royal couple in dear being together with their children and above that the appearance, in which Echnaton let the god Aton be seen and pictured: as a solar disc with a multitude of rays leading to earth and sending signs of life.

In the picture field are diverse inscription naming the names and titles of the pictured persons. The altar on there sides is framed by blue bands of writing out of hieroglyphs. The dating of the relief is based on the typical characteristics of the Amarna period in the end of the first half of Echnatons ruling. It were altar put up in private chapels or houses for people being able to honour the royal family and the god of sun Aton.

King Echnaton lived from 1351 to 1334 BC. The marvellous picture of the royal scene is a real jewellery and original preston for every fan of Egyptian art - for yourself or a loved one.
