The reeds for the calmus comes from the gallia narbonenesis. It is to the famous Roman amphitheater in Nimes, which according to the model of the Roman Colosseum between 90 and 120 AD. was built. In our own workshop, the material is cut by hand. You can write with the calamus of reeds immediately if you get it. Dip it in the ink and get started.

Important request!
The Calami are NOT imported from China. We cut the writing tubes mostly in the south of France in the Roman Gallia Narbonensis. The reed is carefully dried by us and cut in the correct stage of drying, in Germany ready to write. The edges are cleaned and still as natural as possible, in form and surface. So every piece is made by hand.

Die Schreibrohre habe ich als Schatz für die Schnitzeljagd verwendet. Die Kinder sind zwischen 8 und 9 Jahre alt und waren sehr begeistert.
