Roman cider roll
According to the traditional recipe from M. Porcius Cato's "De agri cultura".
"Sprinkle a bushel of wheat flour with must; add to it anise, cumin, 2 pounds of lard, 1 pound of cheese, and grate some sprig of bay leaf,
put it in the same way, and as soon as you have formed it, put bay leaves under it,
when you bake it.
The "postcard recipe" given is a version of this recipe adapted for today.
Quantities, times and baking temperature should be no problem for your Roman cooking and baking project!
