In Egyptian mythology the three gods Isis, Osiris and their son Horus are central figures. The Osiris myth is one of the central epics. As God of the North, his presence in the mythological world increased over time. Together with his wife Isis and his son Horus, he also entered the popular beliefs of the Hellenistic period. Through Roman legionaries the cult finally even reached the Roman Empire as far as Britannica. It was not until the 6th century that the temple of Philae was closed in their honour. Thus the cult around these three figures was widespread over centuries and central especially for the pagan population, which could resist the Christianization for a long time.

Playful learning of ancient mythology

The three gods together form the triad of Abydos. The constellation of Orion corresponds to them. Osiris is in the beginning the god of the underworld and the judge of the dead. After he is resurrected in the Osiris myth, he is associated with fertility. The leg of Osiris also gave rise to the Nile, which shaped Egyptian life like no other natural phenomenon. Isis is the guardian of all beings of the world. She promises recovery and is the patroness of birth. Her son Horus, on the other hand, is the great God of heaven, the Lord of light and of the East.
History and culture conveyed in a playful way
To this day, mythological figures of antiquity impress people. Especially children are enthusiastic about the stories. This also facilitates the learning of world history: the developments of the great empires in antiquity and of cultural contents.
