Marc Aurel - Roman iconic figure
The Imperator Marc Aurel ruled the Roman empire from 161 to 180. Despite the fact that he is considered to be one of the most important emperors of the Roman Empire, he is also known as a great philosopher. He accomplished special achievements during his reign within the empire. He was one of the first to stand up for slaves and women trying to improve their life situation and rights. Today, attempts are being made to examine his political attitude on the basis of his philosophical writings. It is unknown if his writings are authentic, however, it can be assured that Marc Aurel combined regency with philosophy in a special way.
