The Emperor

Marcus Aurelius was the last major representative of the younger Stoa, one of the important philosophical Schools of Greece and Rome. As Princeps he succeeded his adoptive father Antoninus Pius and called himself Marcus Aurelius Antoninus Augustus.

His reign ended in a period of great prosperity for the Roman Empire, which was characterized by extensive internal and external stability. In addition, he was the last of the so-called adoptive emperors, because with Commodus, who established a dictatorial regime, was a biological son of Marcus Aurelius.

Marcus Aurelius was not only Roman Emperor

The bust of the Emperor and the Philosopher is made from hardened Alabaster stucco and comes on a black marble base. The expressive figure with detailed facial features of the Emperor is an impressive ancient monument for antique enthusiasts and followers of the philosophy!
