Bookmark Papyrus - Egyptian Queen Cleopatra
A beautiful queen
The beautiful Cleopatra was an Egyptian queen, similar to the Cleopatra bookmark. She came from a powerful family and wanted to keep her power. Cleopatra was considered cold and unscrupulous when she ascended the throne in 51 BC. At the age of 18, she was associated with beauty and sunlight. She married her brother and ruled the country with him.
The affair with Caesar
There were discrepancies and the brothers and sisters were angry. Cleopatra was driven out of the land and used a woman's weapons against her enemies. There is a collection of antiquities in Berlin showing a marble bust of the attractive queen. There is also a rumour that Cleopatra may have been of black skin, but this is not proven.

A Roman History
On the bookmark Cleopatra, however, she can be seen with a light skin colour, because it cannot be clarified exactly whether the young woman was of African origin. She began an impetuous affair with the Roman king Caesar and he was fascinated by her. When their son Caesarion was born, she moved to another part of the royal villa. Cleopatra gave one dazzling feast after another and was celebrated as the incarnation of Venus.
