Storax is a special kind of frankincense. It has been used for over three millenia. Even the ancient Greeks used it as a basis for perfumes and still today some perfumes cannot do without it! Storax is produced by cutting open storax trees and let their raisin pour out. Afterwards, said raisin will be collected and air dried. During this process it gets its distinctive black coloring. Traditionally storax had to be imported from the Arabian peninsula, but nowadays there are many storax producing countries. Which positively affected the price and therefore, the overall affordability.
