The origin of the replica

The Haithabu pendant reminds by its name of an important place of Danish Vikings from the early Middle Ages. The settlement at the Baltic Sea was known at that time as an important trading place as well as a main trading centre for goods on the way from Scandinavia to Western Europe. In the 9th-11th century AD at least 1,000 people lived permanently near today's Schleswig. The village and its harbour were abandoned about nine centuries ago and are today considered a decisive archaeological monument in Schleswig-Holstein.

Valuable jewellery of the Vikings

Today you can adorn yourself with the beautiful and carefully crafted jewellery of the Viking women. With the Haithabu pendant you get an unmistakable piece and underline so effectively your personality. The women were known for their sense of beauty at that time. Already at that time they knew how to make up and used beauty products they had made themselves. Jewellery also played an important role in their lives. Because the exchange of gifts belonged to the traditions.

A piece of jewellery was and is one of the most valuable gifts and conveys to the recipient the love and admiration of the giver.

A unique piece of jewellery with careful workmanship

The amulet is characterised by the beautiful, with much love to the detail arranged and noble processing. With the granulated originals small gold balls and fine wires were soldered in filigree smallest work on the surface. Our replica of the Haithabu amulet, however, is completely cast in one piece. A pendant, as worn by the Viking women in the early Middle Ages, is rare today and you get a valuable, original piece of jewellery.

In addition, objects in the filigree granulation technique of the so-called Terslev style are by far the most impressive pieces of jewellery of the Viking period. From the second half of the 10th century onwards, they appeared throughout the Baltic Sea region, illustrating the increasing influence of Christianity. Also visible on finds from the island of Hiddensee in the same design style.
