Romans liked nice things. Especially Roman women. But not only did they nice things they also liked to look nice themselves. In order to do so they used a great variety of different decorative elements. Some of the most widely used were hairpins made from bone or other materials. The heads of those pins oftentimes were richly carved, engraved or gilded. Depending on the wearer's status an wealth. The item at hand is a very good example of Roman craftsmanship. A neatly carved Capricorn resides majestically on the top of this pin or needle. A real eye catcher!
No female reenactor should ever visit an other roleplay event without a hairpin like this! Not only is it 100% authentic but it also adds that little something extra to your costume!
