The fire spell.
Fred has travelled to many countries and past cultures. He would never have thought that he would experience his next adventure in Germany of all places. During a cave tour in the Swabian Alb, a fire spark conjures him through time: into a past 35,000 years ago!
"Fire is power", said the lion man. "It can warm, it can destroy, it can even fall from the sky. And it can serve as a weapon."
The Ice Age - a drastic age
An ice age is a period in the history of the earth in which at least one pole of the earth is glaciated or in which enormous glaciations occur in both the southern and northern hemispheres. The last great ice age took place in the so-called Late Pleistocene. It began about 115000 to 110000 years ago and ended about 12500 to 10000 years ago. The ice age brought enormous changes with itself. Thus the climate cooled on the whole earth, it came to wide-ranging glaciations, to extensive floods, in addition, to the lowering of the sea level and thus to the formation of land bridges.
The Ice Age also had a considerable impact on flora and fauna. Cooling and reheating forced the various animal and plant species adapted to the respective climate to relocate their habitats. As a result, many species became extinct. Far-reaching consequences and new challenges also arose for humans!
