A Roman beauty: the "Duck" oil lamp

Oil lamps have been used for thousands of years and are the early precursor of today's lamp. Of course, these were not missing in Rome either. In ancient Rome, oil lamps were not only simple light sources, but also accessories and decoration at the same time. With the oil lamp "Duck" you will soon discover why these lamps are still in demand and worth seeing today, because you not only create a magical light, but also look beautiful.

  • Material: solid silver-plated bronze
  • Dimensions: 12.4 cm long, 8.5 cm high, 4.8 cm wide
  • filigree
  • two wicks included
  • the neck of the duck serves as a carrying handle
  • has a very good standing due to its weight

A pleasant candlelight

Why must it be a candle or a boring bedside lamp if you can light your home with the antique Roman oil lamp "Duck"? The oil lamp has the shape of a duck and weighs a light 500 grams. The duck's neck serves as a carrying handle, where you will come across two holes in the back. A hole is provided for the wick so that you can light it. The other hole is responsible for filling the oil. Within a few seconds the unique Roman duck shines and delivers soft candlelight. So that you don't have to worry, we paid attention to a wide area for a good stand. In this respect, the lamp will not fall over or cause any other damage. However, you do not necessarily have to use it for lighting, but also as a decorative piece, this Roman oil lamp is a real splendour.

A beautiful piece of jewellery

Surely the oil lamp "Duck" is nowadays a rather outdated light source, but as a beautiful accessory for your own four walls it is worthwhile itself all the more. With a length of 12.4 centimetres, it acts directly as an eye-catcher in a cupboard, shelf or display case. The height of 8.5 centimetres and the depth of 4.8 centimetres also ensure that every glance immediately falls on this piece of jewellery. The oil lamp was silver-plated so that the surface literally dances in the sunshine. The filigree work ensures a successful finish, so that you can recognize all small details and subtleties in the best possible way.
