Isis was the daughter of Nut, the goddess of the sky and the stars, and the small earth god Geb in Egyptian goddess beliefs.
She was the only goddess with magical powers, clever and cunning, and was called the Magic Realm. In the Osiris myth she is the consort of Osiris. Her half-brother Seth killed the consort and threw his body parts into the Nile, which distributed them with its floods all over the country. Isis' desperate search for these parts led to success, with her magical powers she succeeded in bringing Osiris back to life, who then became the god of the underworld, the realm of the dead.
She also elicited the secret name of the sun god Re and once again proved her magic powers. Doctors invoked her in the treatment of the sick, mothers implored her protection for their children, because she possessed wisdom and power and was able to awaken the dead.
She gave birth to a sun star, which bathed the earth in light and gave her warmth, was the goddess of creation, fertility and patroness of all the suffering and distressed.
