Gaius Julius Caesar is undoubtedly one of the most famous people from ancient Roman times. He is often mistaken to be the first emperor of Rome. That, however, is a misconception. Augustus was the first Roman emperor, whereas Caesar never held such a title. But be that as it may - it does not take away anything from his greatness and his enormous deeds.
