Markus Aurelius was a Roman Emperor that ruled from A.D 161 to 180. During his reign, various internal and external problems, clashes, and wars took place. Markus Aurelius was also known as a philosopher emperor. He was a practitioner of Stoicism and wrote the so-called "self-contemplations". The latter belongs to world literacy. The life of Markus Aurelius was characterized by love of truth, the fulfillment of his duties, self-control and benevolence.
