The bust itself consists of finely ground alabaster plaster. Unlike conventional plaster, Alabaster plaster is a natural material of very high quality, which has a high resistance and stability. The material is used frequently in the visual arts and for monument preservation, as it can be shaped very finely and remains incredibly hard after drying. The material is ideally suited for a robust bust that brings a piece of history into your living room. The polished and high quality marble base completes the bust with a brass shield, on which the name "Augustus" is additionally noted.
