In the ancient Egypt the ankh pendant not inevitably was found around the neck. The goddess Nebet-Ankh was the god of birth and in most of her images presented with a ankh cross in the hand. The pharaoh, who received the ankh cross, was considered as the son of Nebet-Ankh.
