Bust of Marcus Agrippa Bronze
Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa * 63 BC or 64 BC In Arpinum or in Dalmatia; † 12 BC in Campania.
Marcus Agrippa was a Roman general and politician, friend and son-in-law of Augustus, and ancestor of the emperors Caligula and Nero.
The bust in bronze is modeled after an original from the 1st century AD, which can be seen today in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
The fully plastic Roman bust on a black base is with its bronze patina a very special antique highlight on any desk or shelf. The head of the Roman bust is made of finely ground alabaster plaster.
Alabaster is a high-quality natural material and not comparable with building plaster. Alabaster plaster is very fine, dries out very hard and is therefore used in the artistic and monument conservation areas.
