Roman hair jewellery - an exceptional highlight
This ornamental, filigree hairpin has a profiled end piece. Hairpins made of bone or metal which were often very detailed and decorated were used to keep long hair together. Hair jewelry were both decorative and practical and demonstrated the class to which the owner belonged within the Roman State.
