A written text on papyrus scroll is a book for eternity.
The ancient scroll, made their way to Egypt to Greece and Europe. The "book" came from papyrus rolls in the Roman market, usually from twenty papyrus sheets (kollemata). It was written on the inside of the preferred role (recto), where the fiber direction of the papyrus was horizontal, and offered to the reed pen (calamus) or goose feather (penna scriptoria) the least resistance.
